Project Iswi Team

Giving Izwi to the Mental Health of Young Men

This projects initiative touches the heart central to the path men take through life and why the transformative work Relationalchemy does is so important. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating on it, and the students did an incredible job putting it all together to make it happen.

As one of the first speakers interviewed before the project launched in March 2025, the questions raised took me back in time, recalling what it was like growing up without a voice and knowing only, how to navigate through life carrying the internalized shame of life’s trials and tribulations.
These boys have big hearts and are not afraid to be seen. It is heartwarming and gives me hope that the darkness men have walked through for generations is finally seeing some light.

It is our individual responsibility to stop, reflect, and take accountability before we unconsciously project everything we disown in ourselves onto the canvas of our lives. Poisoning everything we love. Until we become conscious and truly learn to love ourselves despite what happened to us, we’ll continue to perpetuate the same cycle that has become so familiar, that it kept the generations before us trapped under the weight of their unprocessed trauma and pain.
